The first two wings of the Huygens building have been raised between the Universal Laboratory (UL) and the main A building of the Science faculty. Then the UL has been dismantled to make space for the construction of wing 3 and 4 of the Huygens Building, to begin with the removal of dangerous materials from the rooms, in particular asbestos. The demolition of the strong concrete construction from the fifties has occured in a number of sessions in which the carrying pillars were weakened until the unit crashed under its own load...
